Understanding 200 asset details and ranking coverage

CoinMadang’s detailed list, ranking aggregate and global market totals cover different sets of data. Check their scope, sources and timestamps before comparing the numbers.

1. Details versus ranking coverage

The detailed market page shows prices, market caps and volume for 200 assets. Ranking calculations use a broader range declared by the provider, currently capped at 250 assets. Responses declaring 249 or 250 entries are validated against that declaration. Missing assets, duplicate identities and invalid values are not made complete merely by matching a row count.

2. Why global totals differ from the table

Global market cap and volume come from the provider’s global metrics. They are not the sum of the 200 displayed assets or the ranking range. As an illustration, three assets worth USD 10 billion, 5 billion and 2 billion total USD 17 billion. The full market can also include assets outside that table, so its total need not match. These values are hypothetical.

3. Price, supply and volume units

Market cap multiplies price by circulating supply. A USD 2 price and 10 million circulating units imply USD 20 million market cap. Using 20 million units of verified total supply, as this calculator does, implies USD 40 million FDV. These are different measures. Twenty-four-hour volume describes trading activity over a period; it is not market cap or immediately available sell-side liquidity.

4. Timestamps, partial failures and ranks

The source timestamp and our collection time are distinct. A new request does not make old source data current. Details, rankings and global metrics may retain their last valid components, with different timestamps. A ranking failure need not block valid details or independent FX updates. A calculator’s hypothetical rank holds other assets’ market caps fixed; it is not a forecast of a future rank.
